Hi,

I want to extract the duration of the whole mxf file.
In the metadata printed by mxfsplit, there are lots of duration values.

This can be tricky because there are many durations in that file that can be different!

In the simplest files, they should all be the same, but it depends on the complexity of the file.

thanks for your answer!

well, my file has a dnxhd codec in it. I see lots of Duration = 10800000, and at the end of the metadata-output 4 times Duration = 250 (which is the right duration in this case, because I know that the file has 10 seconds)

Can I say that in this case the last occurence of Duration is the right one or is this a too simple attempt?

It could be that the audio tracks have a different edit rate than the video tracks - which should not happen in the same package!

The duration is measured in edit units, so 10800000 edit units at 48kHz is 225 seconds.

Something sounds wrong here!
