Hi to everybody, just a question:

Can I use mxfwrap in order to convert MXF files in OPAtom format to OP1A format?

The clips which I work with come from Panasonic P2 Cams.

Thanks.

Unfortunately not.

I was looking for a method to integrate Panasonic P2 clips into our Avid Interplay Systems, and the first thing I thought was to convert the clips into OP1A format in order to be ingested via Transfer Manager or other software that we had like Agility , but I didn't have success.

Finally I had to develope a set of tools which do this work pretty well. I know there are products like Open Cube or MOG which can do the same more or less but they have the inconvenient they are expensive and didn't adapt completely to our workflow.

If you need more information, please, let me know: advera68@gmai.com

Hi there,

Is there any solution for this procedure?

I have several hdv(mpeg2) wrapped with mxf op-atom built with Avid media composser and I want to be able to transcode it with ffmpeg. Is this structure supported by mxflib?

I already try mxfsplit and it doesn't detect any stream inside the mxf. Any idea or guidance ...?

Thanks,

Hi Carlos, do you know what version of Media Composer generated the files?

Hi Matt,

The files were generated by Avid Media Composer 5.

Does that structure work with a previous version? Any idea?

Any idea would be appreciated.

Avid seems like they are always coming and going and it has hurt the compatibility of some of their software files in the past. Not sure in this case, but don't be surprised if there is some work involved. I have tried moving everything to a dedicated smtp server in the past and got some good results from that, but there is going to be some labor involved. It can be tasking moving thousands of video converter .avi files around between the clouds.
