Post subject:  Getting AudioVisual information from MXF files
Hi, there.

I think I really need some help.

I'm working on a job of getting following information from any mxf file.
    visual height
    visual width
    total bit rate (A/V)
    duration
    frame count
    audio channel count
    video frame rate


Is this make sense or not?

Is there any java library for mxf?


OK. here comes my situation.

1. I've never been touched with MXF before.
2. I got SMPTE 377M doc only. (is this OK?)
3. Now I think I can parse the KLV sequence from the file. (This is what I achieved during this week.)


Can anybody show me some advise?

Please, help me. Any word will help.

I suggest that as a "quick-fix" you try and pick this information out of the file descriptor set. Depending on how reliable you need this to be you should really parse the whole metadata structure because some files can be complicated.

Also, you will probably need some other documents to get the correct property details for each type of essence.
