I wonder what happened to the Java SDK for MXF. It is not available in the pro-mpeg forum.
Can anyone advice if it is still available?

I am also looking for a Java SDK for MXF... does it exist ?

I don't want to wrap the command line tool within my swing app.

There was a version available from Sony a few years back - but I don't think it is still alive

What a pity... That would be really usefull ! I wonder that it was not open...

Is there something open and 100% java ? Do you know people working on an open java API ?

I would like to help on a such project (even if they are beginning their work). Or even start it from scratch (taking your C++ implementation as a starting point).

Thanks.

PS : If someone kept this Sony's API... :)

I am working on a port of the AAF reference implementation to the Java and J2EE environments and I hope to get this adopted as a project by the Advanced Media Workflow Association and released as open source. I hope to include MXF support with this.

I am coming towards the end of the implementation phase of the object model and moving into testing. XML and MXF support will then be added as a next step.

Hopefully something to release or show at IBC 2007 . :)

AAF and MXF libraries in Java would be fantastic. I've been looking for these for months but I have (a) not found anything and (b) not found the time to learn the formats and write something my self.

Not long until IBC 2007.
Where should we find you?

I'm glad you think that the combination of Java and AAF/MXF is fantastic :D I'm rather keen on the idea too ...

I am still waiting to here back from the IBC committee if I have a poster slot in room N1 at the RAI. Fingers crossed, as my work is part of a self-funded start up so no expensive stands for me. If I have a slot, I'll post some more details.

Otherwise, send me a private message and I'll arrange to meet up with you at the show.

I have a poster session confirmed at IBC 2007 in room N1 on Friday 7th September from 10am to 1pm where you can find out more details about the Media Authoring with Java API (MAJ API).

More details can be found here ...

http://www.portability4media.com/publications/p4m_ibc2007_infosheet.pdf

If that is not convenient, send me a private message.
