Hi,
I am a newbie to MXF. I understand that MPEG7 is also a standard for handling Metadata in multimedia file, hence why MXF was developed?
Is there a comparison where MXF have that MPEG7 does not?
Appreciate if someone can advice.

MXF and MPEG-7 are 2 different things. MPEG-7 only standardizes descriptive metadata for audiovisual content ( mainly as XML files, but MPEG-7 also defines a binary format : BiM ). MXF is a wrapper ( a file format ) like AVI, ASF, QuickTime, MP4 or Matroska wich is independent to audio/video codecs and provides advanced features. MXF has also defined descriptive metadata support with DMS-1 ( SMPTE 380M ).
Hope this helps.
