I have here a summary about the essence support of MXFLib. I’m not sure about its correctness. Would someone please correct it if anything in there is not correct? Thanks!

Supported:

DV-DIF (DVCPro25/50; DVCProHD; DVCam)
JP2K (one-file-only; Modify the jp2k parser will be needed to wrap a sequence of files)
MPEG2-VES
WAV/BWF

Not supported: (But we could create essence sub-parsers based on esp_template.h/cpp IF we can.)

MPEG-TS/PS
MPEG1/2-Audio
MPEG4
AES3
D10/11
Uncompressed video

Yes pretty accurate, but the DV support is currently only 25Mbps - for 50 you would need to make some trivial changes.

Sorry for my ignorance (I'm new to MXF but trying to learn), what is the difference between a regular jpeg file (say from Photoshop) and jpeg2000?

I need the ability to convert a sequence of jpegs to MXF but I keep running into this error when trying to convert a .jpg file:

Output OP = OP1a
ERROR: Could not identify the essence in file

Where am I going wrong?

Edit: Does MXFwrap support Motion JPEG2K, MJ2?

Jp2k is compressed using wavelets - very different from good 'ole JPEG

Mjp2k and MJ2 not supported at the moment - it would need an esp writing
