Hello,
I am eager to learn a lot more about the MXF format. I have found that the SMPTE site sells the MXF specs but at a cost. Does anyone know where I can learn more about the specs online? I simply cannot afford to spend any money at this time. I will use freeMXF to learn as much as I can but if I had the official specs I could learn a lot faster. Thank you for any info.

Unfortunately there are no "legal" copies of the spec that can be downloaded at this time. If you were a SMPTE member you could get access to various draft versions, but again that only comes at a cost!

There is an MXF book coming out in the next few months, it can be found here

This again will cost, but it would be a good place to start.
