Hello! I'm new in mxflib and wondering "how they understand all this staff!":) So I'm badly need any kind of examples of usage (with descriptions!). Start from "hello world" things up to "external essence files" ones. mxfsplit etc. too heavy for me yet, so pls, could u suggest ANY examples and samples.
thank u!

The easiest places to start would probably be the sources for simplewrap and mxfdump.
There is also an introduction in the MXF book, which would be worth considering if you are planning to do a lot with MXF.

ok, thanx, I looked at them, it was not so difficult as it seemed to me when I first time looked at them:) but I got another q: 1. is mxflib have any support for essences in external files? which classes should I consider? 2. which classes I should use to realize MXF OP1a DirectShow source filter? Or may be some examples of such things?
thanx a lot for your reply!

The answer to 1 is that it does support it, but there is no example code at the moment. You would simply add a source package with a NetworkLocator giving the file location and associate the essence with a BodySID of 0.
2 is much more complicated - you could base it on MXFSplit, but the details of the DirectShow filter are not trivial. Do you have experience writing DirectShow filters?

Yeah, I got one source filter but it's ugly and weird, so I wanna rewrite it with help of brains and mxflib) I looked at mxfsplit, some things I understood, some things not, but in any case - I realized that I must learn MXF more deeply. Current realization use knowledge about offsets of DV and PCM data which came from hex-editor;) May be there r any example of Index usage for map timecode to byte offset or something like this?
